Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2022 Acura MDX- Video

Hello, neighbors! It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the CURT Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2022 Acura MDX. Now this is what our trailer hitch receiver looks like when it's installed on the MDX. And the great part about this is it's a hidden cross tube, meaning the only part that's gonna be hanging down is the receiver tube opening and the rest of the hitch is actually hidden behind the bumper. So you're gonna retain a nice OEM look, but still have the ability to use your hitch when you need it. Taking a closer look, we're gonna see a nice black powder coat finish, so over time it's gonna resist rust and corrosion and look really good even with road grime over the years. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Acura MDX we're going to be installing CURT's Class 3, two-inch trailer hitch receiver, Part Number C13146.This is what our hitch is going to look like when it's installed. As you can see the cross tube's hidden behind the bumper so you're only going to see the receiving tube sticking out the end here. It's a Class 3, two-inch by two-inch receiver so it's going to be great for all your towing needs from trailers to bike racks, it'll do it all.It's got hoop style safety chain loops so these would be great to accommodate just about any size safety chain that you might have.It uses a 5/8 inch hitch pin. Hitch pin and clips not included with this hitch, but you can pick one here up at etrailer.com. It features a 900 pound tongue weight, that's the force going down on top of the receiver, and a 6,000 pound gross towing capacity. That's how much you can pull behind it.If you're using a weight distribution system, your tongue weight's going to remain the same, but your gross towing capacity's going to increase to 8,000 pounds.You do want to check your vehicle's Owners Manual to ensure you're not exceeding its capacities.Now I've got some measurements for you to help when deciding on accessories. more

Now you can see that all we're gonna see is the receiver tube sticking out, because that cross tube is actually gonna be tucked behind the bumper here, giving it a really nice appearance, not distracting from our Acura. It is a Class 3 hitch, which means it's gonna give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, which means we're gonna have a lot of different options for accessories.Now the way we're gonna mount all of our accessories, the hitch can hold here on the side, and it is gonna accept a standard five eighths pin and clip. Now while these aren't included in the kit, you can pick them up along with locking devices here at etrailer.com.As far as the safety chain connecting points go, it's gonna be a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. But as you can see we're gonna have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off, and the slight offset from the hitch pin hole means it should give us a little bit better clearance so we don't have to worry about it interfering.Our hitch is gonna have a matte black carbide finish to it, so it's gonna blend in really nicely with the bottom of the bumper here, and it's not gonna be so distracting like some of those high gloss finishes are. It's also gonna help prevent any kinda scratches and hide the dirt and dust really well.As far as the weight capacity goes, our hitch is gonna have a 900 pound towing weight. more

Today, our 2015 Acura NDX, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install a draw-type, class three, match frame trailer hitch receiver. Part number 75225. This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed, as you can see, our crosstube is going to be completely hidden behind our bumper. The only thing you're going to see is your receiver tube, it's going to be a class three, two-inch by two-inch and then hitch pin hole's going to be 5/8ths-inch in diameter. This hole here in the back is going to be for a J-pin stabilization device only and what the J-pin is going to do, it's going to take the shake and rattle out of any of your hitch mount accessories. Here we have your safety chain loop. As opposed to the plate style or the ring style, which are going to run flat, this is more of a compact style that's going to come straight down off of your receiver tube. It's very thick, it's going to give you plenty of stability. more

Today in our 2008 Acura MDX we'll be installing the draw tight class three max range trailer hitch receiver. Part number 75614. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's tucked up nicely behind our bumper cover and the part that hangs down is the class three, two-inch receiver here and a little bit of the frame of the hitch. You may notice right here, there's this tab sticking out with a couple holes. This is for mounting a bracket to secure your wiring for your trailer harness such as a four pull flat or seven pull round. We also have these nice, easy to use safety chain loops right here. A plate welded on the bottom of the receiver. Really easy to use even for small diameters safety chains they should clip in there nice and easily. more

Best 2008 Acura MDX Hitch Options- Video

Today on our 2008 Acura MDX we'll be looking at our best hitch options. We have two hitches here today. On the top we have a CURT class three, part number 13354. On the bottom we have a Draw-Tite class three, part number 75614. The main difference between our two hitches here today is that our Draw-Tite here has this extra tab welded onto it where you can mount your electrical connections for your trailer wiring such as your four-pole flat or your seven-way RV connection. Our Draw-Tite hitch here has an additional hole that's in front of the standard 5/8 diameter hitch pinhole. more

Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the draw tight max frame custom fit trailer hitch receiver. This is a class 3 hitch offering the 2 inch x 2 inch opening. It's part number is 75225. Here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on the MDX. As you can see, it's going to have a really nice clean look. inaudible 00:00:22 we've got are our safety chain connection points where they hang down, a receiver tube opening and the bracket right here hid off to the side there for mounting wiring to, if you wanted to. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Acura MDX - Curt- Video

Today on our 2015 Acura MDX we're going to review and install the CURT class three 2" receiver tube hitch, part number C13146. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. As you can see, the hitch is completely hidden behind the rear fascia. This is a completely steel, fully welded constructed hitch that's got a really nice black powder-coated finish to resist rust and corrosion. The only thing really exposed is our receiver tube. It's got our chain hold down on each side and a 5/8 pinhole that goes all the way through the receiver tube. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Acura MDX - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2007 Acura MDX, we're going to be installing and taking a look at the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. This is a custom fit, class III hitch that's going to offer a 2" opening. Part number is 75614. Here's what your hitch is going to look like once you get it installed on the vehicle. As you can see, not a whole lot hanging down below our factory rear bumper. You'll have that round tube design, so it's pretty sleek, kind of tapers in, nice and narrow, 2" opening. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we'll be installing the Curt 2 inch receiver tube hitch, part number C13146. This is what our hitch will look like, once installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements, to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 2 3/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 14 inches. This will assist you selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now, we will go ahead with installation. more

All right, today on this 2012 Acura MDX were going to install part #: 75614 from Draw-Tite. All right, this is what the hitch looks like once its installed on the vehicle. Next well give you some measurements thatll help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 16 and a quarter inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be three and three quarter inches. Now Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing that we need to do is go ahead and lower the spare tire and get it out of our way. more

Next, we will go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 17 inches and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be 3-1/2 inches.Now, Ill go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing we need to do is go ahead and lower the spare tire and get it out of our way. Then, next we will go ahead and lower the exhaust by removing the two rear most rubber hangers. more

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be three and three quarter inches, nd from the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 16 niches.Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. First thing were going to do is go ahead and we removed the spare tire. With our tire out fo the way we can see whats going on and make it a little easier to install everything. more
